LEARN MUSIC, YOUR WAY.
Music education is not a one-size-fits-all curriculum, nor is it effective in a group setting. That’s why my lessons are one-on-one and your curriculum is designed for you. You have the freedom to choose any combination of the following skills that you’d like to learn:

HI, I’M CAROL!
As an award-winning songwriter, composer (MTV, Discovery, HBO), recording artist, multi-instrumentalist and certified music teacher of almost 10 years with a masters degree in music, I offer my students the rare opportunity to experiment with all of their musical ideas and grow as highly skilled musicians under accomplished guidance.
Music is my life’s work, which is why my style of teaching is centered more around mentorship and long term development. In all my years of being both student and teacher, I’ve learned that the most successful combination is when an interested pupil is paired with a passionate and caring mentor. I can guarantee a student’s success under the one requirement of being deeply interested in music. In order to maintain exceptional service to my students, new applicants are required to audition.
THREE STAGES OF LEARNING
STAGE 1: THE BASICS
A foundational instrument is one that covers a wide enough range, allowing students to easily transition into learning other instruments and areas of music. While the piano is certainly the strongest in that regard, students are encouraged to select an instrument they’re most interested in learning.

STAGE 2: CREATE, CAPTURE & PERFORM
The only way to keep students engaged is to keep students excited. Stage 2 is all about getting creative with your instrument. Learn how to write, compose, perform, and record your own music! My students have gone on to compose music for short films, and even publishing their own compositions into books!

STAGE 3: LAUNCH YOUR MUSIC
Stage 3 is designed to supercharge your skillset, teaching you how to shoot your own professional photos, music videos and leverage the internet as a main stage where you’ll operate your music as a business and build a career out of it.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.
LOCATION
MY STUDIO
I teach out of my music studio which is located inside my home. Students that take lessons at the studio enjoy a complimentary recording session (optional) once a month on a song they’ve been working on. This is a fun & unique way to track progress and keep students excited to practice. Address will be provided privately, over email.
YOUR HOME
As an added convenience to my students, I also offer private music instruction in your home. The price gets adjusted for travel time, and my schedule is usually less flexible, but this is a service I do provide. Please email me below to inquire about my in-home lesson availability.
ONLINE
We will use Discord to conduct lesson video chats. A webcam setup to point towards the student’s hands will be needed. I’m happy to assist through the setup process if needed.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
AGE RANGES
I teach 7 years and up (yes, adults too!). Students are typically ready to take lessons from age 4 and up, but I have the most success personally at 7+. Levels Students of all levels are welcome; from absolute beginner to advanced!
LESSON DURATION
DURATION
Lessons are a minimum of 1h in length. Anything less is typically just enough time to skim through homework and then skim through new material. Rushing through lessons leaves students feeling unfamiliar with the new material, making practice time on their own to be a struggle and sometimes ineffective. When practice is at a bare minimum, progress becomes slow. When progress is slow, students lose interest quickly.
FREQUENCY
Lessons are scheduled at a minimum frequency of once per week. Why: Student progress tends to suffer when too much time is left in between lessons. For this reason, I don’t offer bi-monthly lessons or anything less than once a week.
SPECIAL NEEDS
ATTENTION DIFFICULTY
Lessons are typically broken into 15 minute segments, with micro breaks in between to keep students who have difficulty with attention to remain actively engaged. With constant movement across concepts, materials, and books, I’ve had success using this method with even the most active 4 year olds!
LEARNING DISABILITIES
While private instruction is beneficial to all students, it is especially helpful towards those with special needs. We can slow things down to a pace that works for the student in need, without the added stress of keeping up with classmates. If you or your child requires special assistance, please be sure to let me know.
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY
Unfortunately, my studio is not wheelchair accessible and requires around 15 steps to reach the top. If this is an issue, please inquire about in-home lessons.
COMMITMENT
Commitments to lessons are monthly. Withdrawals You are free to opt-out at any time but your withdrawal will be effective 30 days after initial notice is given.
PRACTICE
Practicing is the most difficult part when it comes to music lessons. My goal is to teach you how to practice effectively, alone.
PAYMENTS
BILLING CYCLES
Tuition is due 1 week before the first lesson of each month in order to secure the time slot. For example, if your first lesson is scheduled on Oct 1st, your payment of 4 lessons is due on September 24th. Since lessons are weekly, tuition typically works out to either 4 or 5 lessons per month. Of course, this depends on the month!
LATE FEES
Late payments incur an additional $25 charge, per week.
PAYMENT METHODS
A credit card is required to enroll, but future payments may be made by check, or online.
DISCOUNTS
Payments made by check receive a 4% discount.
POLICIES
REFUNDS
Tuition payments are final, non-refundable, and non-transferrable. Reschedules I allow for make up lessons with at least 24 hour notice. I do, however ask my students to limit rescheduling to once, every other month. It’s in a student’s best interest to keep lessons as consistent as possible. If you find your lesson time does not work, just let me know and we can change it to something more suitable.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made with at least 24h notice in order to be rescheduled or credited. Lessons cancelled without a minimum of 24h notice will be forfeited.
EMERGENCY CANCELLATIONS
Life can be very unpredictable at times, and emergencies unfortunately do happen. I’m happy to reschedule or credit missed lessons for any last minute serious emergencies.
PUNCTUALITY
Lessons will begin and end promptly at the set time. I cannot guarantee the full lesson duration if students arrive late.
